Understanding How Oak Park Works — and How You Can Get Involved

Oak Park is an unincorporated community governed by the County of Ventura. Local issues and priorities are guided by the Oak Park Municipal Advisory Council otherwise known as the MAC — your elected community representatives who advise County Supervisor Jeff Gorell on issues important to Oak Park community members. The Supervisor takes the input from the MAC to help address items within Oak Park at the County level.

The MAC meets once a month at Oak Park High School. The meetings take place the last Thursday of the month at 7 pm in room G-9. The MAC is dark in August, and the November meeting is the third Thursday of the month because of the Thanksgiving holiday.

🏡 What is CSA 4?

Oak Park’s basic services are funded through Community Service Area 4 (CSA 4), created decades ago to provide: street lighting and electricity, landscaping and irrigation, crossing guards and street sweeping.

CSA 4 covers only County-maintained areas — not private shopping centers, HOAs, Rancho Simi Recreation and Park District (RSRPD) property or individual homes. RSRPD is the entity that manages all the parks in Oak Park.

💰 Did you know?

Oak Park residential property owners pay a $17.56 annual tax toward CSA 4 services. This contribution helps maintain shared infrastructure and beautification throughout the community.
